Care home opens on French Horn site
50 staff looking after 53 residents at full capacity
A CARE home has opened on the site of a former pub.
Buckingham House, in Oxford Road, officially opened on Friday last week.
People in Gerrards Cross were invited to enjoy drinks and food, and to see the facilities.
The 53-bed home has been built in place of the French Horn pub, which closed in 2007 and has been vacant ever since.
It is being run by the Maria Mallaband Care Group, and so far 12 people have signed up to live there.
The home will provide nursing, dementia and residential care, and is expected to employ up to 50 staff once it is fully established.
Jill Shearer, senior operations manager at the Maria Mallaband Care Group, said: “Being new to Gerrards Cross, we are privileged to be central to such a beautiful location and have already been very warmly welcomed by those who live here.”

The home will facilities such as a dining rooms, spa landscaped gardens.
