Fancy a trip to Nepal while fundraising for a hospice?
Trek includes two days doing voluntary work in Kathmandu
A HOSPICE is inviting people to go on a ‘travel opportunity of a lifetime’ while raising charity cash.
The Hospice of St Francis is inviting anyone who might be interested in joining its trek to Nepal in November next year to come along to an open evening on Thursday next week at 7.30pm at its Spring Centre in Berkhamsted.
Led by travel company Different Travel, the 12-day trip, scheduled for October 31 to November 11, 2015, includes a five-day trek through the Alpine forest of the Ghorepani Poon Hill trail and across the snow-capped peaks of the Annapurna region with its panoramic views across the Himalayas.
After the trek, those taking part will spend two days volunteering at a hospice in Kathmandu, which supports terminallyill patients and helping out with much-needed refurbishments such as repainting rooms or improving kitchen facilities.
The open evening will give a brief overview of the country and its people, detailed information on the daily plans of the trip, p address practical matters such as what to take, recommended fitness levels, health advice and entry requirements.
Community fundraiser Sarah Ajder said: “The Nepal trek offers people the chance to explore a fascinating country, meet new people and enjoy shared experiences on a once-in-a-lifetime trip.
“I’d urge anyone who is even a little bit tempted to come along to our open evening where they can find out what’s involved and ask as many questions as they nt before ommitting.” All money aised from the trek will go to the Hospice of
Francis, ch cares for
with life limiting illnesses from Chesham, Amersham, the Chalfonts and surrounding villages.
