UTUMN is a great month for for­ag­ing in the hedgerows, black­ber­ries are now in full swing, as are my favourite, the na­tive cob­nut.

They are de­li­cious eaten raw, but don’t stop there. Lightly toasted they can be used in sal­ads, cakes, or in this pesto. If you have trou­ble find­ing them for free, a good green­gro­cer should be able to or­der them in for you.
