Talk highlights town contribution in First World War
PEOPLE heard about a town’s war heroes at a library talk.
The talk was held at Beaconsfield Library, in Reynolds Road, Beaconsfield, on Wednesday, September 24 to cast some light on the town’s links with the war in the First World War centenary year.
Beaconsfield Society member Kari Dorme, who has researched and held events about Victoria Cross recipient Cpt Grenfell, joined The Rev Jeremy Brooks, vicar at St Mary and All Saints Church, to give the talk.
Town crier Dick Smith represented the Royal British Legion, and Help for Heroes also sent a representative.
