Talk high­lights town con­tri­bu­tion in First World War

PEO­PLE heard about a town’s war he­roes at a li­brary talk.

The talk was held at Bea­cons­field Li­brary, in Reynolds Road, Bea­cons­field, on Wed­nes­day, Septem­ber 24 to cast some light on the town’s links with the war in the First World War cen­te­nary year.

Bea­cons­field So­ci­ety mem­ber Kari Dorme, who has re­searched and held events about Vic­to­ria Cross re­cip­i­ent Cpt Gren­fell, joined The Rev Jeremy Brooks, vicar at St Mary and All Saints Church, to give the talk.

Town crier Dick Smith rep­re­sented the Royal Bri­tish Le­gion, and Help for He­roes also sent a rep­re­sen­ta­tive.
