An­tiques Road­show star hosts char­ity auc­tion trib­ute to Hec­tor

A WELL-KNOWN an­tiques dealer will host a char­ity auc­tion at the week­end.

John Bly, who is best known from the BBC’s An­tiques Road­show, will host an auc­tion of prom­ises at The Court The­atre, in Tring, on Satur­day.

The cabaret style evening, called Mem­o­ries, is in re­mem­brance of Hec­tor Stringer who took his own life on April 20, 2011, aged 18 years old.

Funds raised will be do­nated to Cam­paign Against Liv­ing Mis­er­ably, a char­ity nom­i­nated by Hec­tor’s House, a sui­cide and cri­sis preven­tion in­for­ma­tion re­source set up in his mem­ory.

Mr Bly will auc­tion more than 20 lots of ‘prom­ises’ do­nated by friends, fam­ily and lo­cal busi­nesses, in­clud­ing a one-week hol­i­day in Greece for two peo­ple in­clud­ing flights and ac­com­mo­da­tion, a tour of the Vic­to­ria and Al­bert Mu­seum for six peo­ple con­ducted by Mr Bly him­self, nu­mer­ous health and beauty and en­ter­tain­ment and leisure vouch­ers and more.
