OPEN minds at Audi have been ap­plied to the clas­sic open-top two-seater sports car, and the all-new TT Road­ster brings its con­tem­po­rary per­spec­tive on the time-hon­oured theme to next month’s Mon­dial de l’Au­to­mo­bile in Paris.

The new high-per­for­mance con­vert­ible is due in the UK in good time for spring 2015, and can be or­dered from mid-Novem­ber, from £31,955 OTR. The flat and taut top of the new TT Road­ster and the TTS Road­ster pro­vides a clear con­trast with the body and is de­fined by the short side win­dow de­sign that is typ­i­cal of the TT Road­ster.

At the rear, the stan­dard LED lights are per­ma­nently il­lu­mi­nated. The third brake light con­nects the light sil­hou­ette at the rear. At speeds over 74mph a spoiler is ex­tended from the lug­gage com­part­ment lid to pro­vide more down­force on the rear axle. The sleek new body can be painted in a range of 10 colours. can do so at up to 31mph. While open­ing, the top forms a Z shape as it folds flat into its alu­minium tray. The closed top is taut at high speeds.
