GERRARDS Cross Golf Club champion Dan Messias this week added the Presidents’ Prize Foursomes Cup, with father Roger, to the Bucks Advertiser Cup he won last week.
Meanwhile, Joan Marshall was celebrating a double success too, landing both the Autumn Cup (74 points) and Afternoon Foursomes, the latter with Sheilah Whitwell (26 points) – just ahead of Hilary McMullan and Joan Simpson (24) and Liz Keens and Julie Kinchin (23). Another double winner was Marilyn Evans, who recorded nearest to the pin in the Afternoon Foursomes and longest drive in Division Three, while other longest drives were recorded by Gillian Kinnear (Division One) and Mary Taylor (Division Two). In the Morning Stableford, Lynn Moody (39) won Division One ahead of Keens, Catriona Porter and Andrea Vanner (all 35), while Jennifer Locke (41) triumphed in Division Two ahead of Caroline Ringwell (40) and Marshall, and Anne Leah (36) pipped Patricia Murphy (32) and Lesley Calhoun (31) to the Division Three title.
