Marcus still loving that winning feeling
MARCUS Bicknell shows no signs of slowing down at the age of 66.
The Chalfont St Giles motor racer won the British Automobile Racing Club’s Clubmans Proto Championship by winning both races at Thruxton on Saturday.
Racing in his Mallock Mk35 EB Honda Proto front-engined sports car, he just managed to hold off Alan Cook in another Mallock in both races.
Bicknell has been racing in Clubmans since 2000 and did not won a race until 2012, but like a fine wine gets better with age and has now won the championship in both 2013 and 2014.
He joked: “Now I’ve done it for the second year running, perhaps I can retire!”
