Kayleigh best prepared
BEACONSFIELD School pupil Kayleigh Priestly won the title of best prepared boat at the Offshore World Powerboat Championships
The kind-hearted youngster (pictured) also raised just under £1,000 for the Sick Children’s Trust with a raffle and auction she ran at the event.
Proud mum Odette Priestly said: “She became the talk of the pits with how she presented the boat and herself and was awarded the best prepared boat out of 20, including three previous world champions.”
Kayleigh also took sixth place in another race, but after a navigator error her team was disqualified.
Mrs Priestly added: “It was such a shame as she had driven so well in really rough seas and battled on despite being in pain after she injured her coccyx on a big wave on the way to the start.”
