THE WHITE HORSE, Hedgerley
Hedgerley are celebrating that their village has been named the Best Kept Village in Bucks for 2014.
The award was presented to the parish council on Saturday by the Countess Howe, representing the Lord Lieutenant of Bucks.
The White Horse was mentioned in the BKV judges’ report for its splendid display of flowers, and they were still looking fabulous when after the award ceremony, Lady Howe, judges and councillors repaired to the pub for a buffet tea.
To mark the occasion a cask of ‘Hedgerley Pride’ had been specially commissioned from the Rebellion Brewery by White Horse landlord, Kevin Brooker. We’ve always known this pub is a special place particularly for lovers of well-kept real ale, so it was nice to see it recognised as the centre of village life. Congratulations to all involved.
