Enchanting ladies in a Mirror-culous fundraiser
YOUNG dancers have made a great show of raising hundreds of pounds for charity. Georgie’s School of Dance and Drama, based at Ley Hill Memorial Hall, organises two fundraising events each year at The Elgiva theatre, in St Mary’s Way, Chesham.
The latest production, The Enchanted Mirror, raised more than £1,500 for Mind the Gap, a charity that helps people with mental health issues.
Seventy students, aged 14 to 18, took part in the show and some of their dads were roped into perform in an Adam Ant medley.
School principal Georgie Deyn, who devised the show, says: “The performers were all amazing – such a talented cast with bags of energy.
“Mind the Gap was chosen because it’s a local charity which helps local people.
“Part of my other vocation is teaching meditation and I’ve seen a rise in the sheer number of people suffering from depression and anxiety, so this year’s choice was easy.”
