Having a ball thanks to £10k boost
A CANDLELIGHT ball has raised more than £10,000 for charity.
Macmillan’s Gerrards Cross and District Committee managed to raise a total of £10,698 at the event which was held at Stoke Place in Stoke Poges on Saturday, September 20.
The total meant that the event, which is now in its 20th year, has raised more than £500,000 for Macmillan since it was launched.
Macmillan supporters were joined by guests from across the South East and the Midlands, who ate and drank while being entertained by a harpist and magicians.
Liz King, ambassador for Macmillan Cancer Support and project leader of the Candlight Ball organising team, said: “The Candlelight Ball was a huge success, we thank everyone who supported it and they certainly put the fun into fundraising.
“The ball was a sell-out, with a waiting list for tickets, and we are still receiving generous donations.
“We will continue to organise more fundraising events for Macmillan.”
