Chiltern on course to win punctuality crown
CHILTERN Railways is on track to retain top spot in the country when it comes to punctuality, according to the latest statistics released by Network Rail.
Official rail industry figures showed 85.2 per cent of its trains arrived within a minute of their scheduled time in the 12 months to September, compared with the national average of 65.1.
Chiltern came out on top when the last complete set of figures were released, for the financial year to April.
When it comes to performance, which combines punctuality and reliability, Chiltern is currently fourth with 94.8 per cent for the 12 months to September. The national average is 89.5.
Operations and safety director at Chiltern Railways,AndrewMunden, said: “These results reinforce our commitment to providing a punctual service on which our passengers can rely. We take punctuality very seriously and our team works hard to make sure we give our passengers the best travel experience possible.”
