Jumble provides a grand boost for Children’s Society
SHOPPERS raised about £1,100 for the Children’s Society in a jumble sale on Saturday.
The charity held the sale at Chalfont St Peter Church Hall and also received ‘house collection boxes’, which families keep at their homes and drop change into.
The boxes raised about £1,300 and more are being sent to the committee.
The sale’s organiser Isobel Silman said: “The committee would like to say a very big thank you to all those who generously donated so many items for the sale and also those who attended as buyers or helpers.
“Despite the rain, many came along and had great fun rummaging through the vast array of items on offer.”
The society helps runaway children and leftover items from the sale have been distributed to the charity’s shops, as well as other charities in the area.
