Deall leads charge by Sum­mit cy­cle club

SUM­MIT Moun­tain Bike Club dom­i­nated the lat­est round of the Banjo Cy­cles Ram­page XC Se­ries on Sun­day.

The Chiltern team of 10 com­peti­tors won three races be­tween them with Ross Deall lead­ing the charge in the ju­ve­niles race.

Just back from a knee in­jury, Deall over­came a punc­ture on the first lap to win while Tom Barrowcliffe took third just ahead of Chal­font St Giles debu­tant Ja­cob Scott, who was fourth.

Ben Don­ald was a busy lad, the eight-year-old im­pres­sively win­ning the U9s race, be­fore chang­ing num­bers and rac­ing to sec­ond spot in the U11s event.

Hyde Heath’s Lucy All­sop was the club’s other win­ner, tak­ing the girls’ U11 hon­ours in a time which would have placed her sec­ond in the U11 boys’ race.

There was a podium fin­ish too for Orla Barrowcliffe who was sec­ond in the U9 girls’ race while five-year-old Katie All­sop was fifth.

There was a medal as well for Joshua Scott who was third in the youth event for 15 to 16 year-olds.

Sum­mit MTB runs reg­u­lar coach­ing ses­sions and trail rides for young peo­ple aged six-16 in and around the Chilterns.
