Deall leads charge by Summit cycle club
SUMMIT Mountain Bike Club dominated the latest round of the Banjo Cycles Rampage XC Series on Sunday.
The Chiltern team of 10 competitors won three races between them with Ross Deall leading the charge in the juveniles race.
Just back from a knee injury, Deall overcame a puncture on the first lap to win while Tom Barrowcliffe took third just ahead of Chalfont St Giles debutant Jacob Scott, who was fourth.
Ben Donald was a busy lad, the eight-year-old impressively winning the U9s race, before changing numbers and racing to second spot in the U11s event.
Hyde Heath’s Lucy Allsop was the club’s other winner, taking the girls’ U11 honours in a time which would have placed her second in the U11 boys’ race.
There was a podium finish too for Orla Barrowcliffe who was second in the U9 girls’ race while five-year-old Katie Allsop was fifth.
There was a medal as well for Joshua Scott who was third in the youth event for 15 to 16 year-olds.
Summit MTB runs regular coaching sessions and trail rides for young people aged six-16 in and around the Chilterns.
