Great idea, but how will station be used?

Buckinghamshire Advertiser - - OPINION -

RE: Search for site for new police station (Advertiser, October 8) DELIGHTED to hear Thames Valley Police are at last taking action on a new Gerrards Cross Police Station following the withdrawal of their planning application some two years ago ( reference as above). The reason for the withdrawal, believe, was partly because South Bucks District Council was not satisfied with the application, due to the very limited number of hours Thames Valley Police intended to man the station on such a prime High Street location. Their concern was understandable. It is therefore important for the chief constable and/or our police commissioner to advise us exactly how they intend to use the station, the number of hours it will be manned, and full details of the services it will provide to the residents of Gerrards Cross.

The opportunity for residents to respond to their proposals would be welcome, and then perhaps it would be time to consider what would be an appropriate site for the police station.
