Subsidised taxi deal

Buckinghamshire Advertiser - - OPINION -

A TAXI firm is to provide a subsidised service for older people to help them get to medical centres.

Gerrards Cross Parish Council has announced the partnership with Aspire Executive Taxis, in Station Approach.

The company will help provide the council’s concessionary taxi fare scheme, set up 10 years ago to help people in the village aged over 60 who struggle to get to hospitals facilities.

The scheme allows about 50 per cent of the fare to be claimed back.

Parish council chairman Chris Brown said: “We are delighted that Aspire have agreed to take on providing this valuable service for our residents and look forward to working with them.”
