Police stations set for huge

Buckinghamshire Advertiser - - FOCUS -

“If we do have volunteers I think it should be open 24 hours, there would be no reason for it not to. I’d certainly put myself down to volunteer.”

Mr Lacey also believes that instead of Chesham police station being replaced, Amersham should be merged with it.

He said: “Chesham is the third largest town in Bucks with a population of 22,000 people.

“Amersham is a lot smaller and they’ve got a lovely police station. I can’t understand why these things always happen to Chesham.

“Why can’t Amersham station move to Chesham and we have one big one here? We used to have a big police station with cells, CID and a magistrates’ court every Wednesday, and what have we got now? It’s ridiculous.”
