New high for house prices
THE average house price in Buckinghamshire has risen to a new high of £285,649.
It increased by £2,724 (one per cent) in August, according to a report by Bucks Business First on Land Registry figures.
The average is now 3.3 per cent (£9,167) above April 2008’s pre-recession peak.
In the past year prices in Buckinghamshire have risen 8.8 per cent (£23,073), compared to 8.4 per cent (£13,707) in the country as a whole and the 21.6 per cent (£82,986) in London.
There were 829 sales in Buckinghamshire in June, five more than the same month last year. While the 9,550 houses sold in the year to June 2014 was the highest since the recession, transactions were still 23.6 per cent below the 2007 level.
