Brereton hits the top thanks to perfect 10
ROB Brereton leads the way in the Super Singles Darts League following his second successive 10-0 victory, with Ryan Carroll his latest victim.
Another 10-0 winner in week two at the Wooburn Club was Patrick O’Reilly, beating Simon White, while the third 10-0 came from Andy Long, who hit a 180 in his win over Mike McLeod.
But the match of the night was between Dan Franzen and Mark Luckett. Luckett led 3-2 and hit a 180, only for Franzen to reverse that score in the second session and grab a 5-5 draw.
Mick Carlton beat an out of form Dave Stopps 8-2, while Paul Woodbridge’s excellent start to the season continued, beating Trevor Brereton by the same score.
The first week of matches were also played in the Wycombe & Amersham Darts Club League on Friday last week, and a 180 from Dave ‘Curly’ King was not enough for Holmer Green Legion as they lost 10-4 to Totteridge SC in Division One.
Hazlemere Community Centre’s John Beattie hit a 103 outshot, but his side were made to work hard for an 8-6 win over Division One newcomers Winchmore Hill CC.
Wooburn Club were also pushed all the way by RAFA Club, but with the score at 3-3 they took six out of eight singles for a 9-5 win, Andy Long hitting a 122 outshot.
In Division Two, new boys Marlow Legion held Cressex CC C to a 7-7 draw, Simon Tyler hitting a 180 for Marlow, while Holmer Green Legion B got off to a flier, beating Cressex CC A 9-5.
The highlight of the match between Marsh Legion and Rob Brereton Bourne End CC was a fantastic 132 outshot from Bourne End’s Patrick Adams, who helped his side to an 8-6 win, but the early leaders are Cressex CC E following their 10-4 victory over Judo Club.
