DOMINANT Amersham & Chiltern Minis won eight out of 12 competitions at their own tournament on Sunday.

As well as the host club, A and B sides were also sent by Beaconsfield, Buckingham, Chesham, Fullerians, Saracens and Tring, playing at all levels from U7 to U12.

The format was a round robin, with each side playing each other once and being awarded three points for a win and one for a draw.

The hosts were most dominant at U11 level, where both their A and B sides won all their games without conceding a single try to finish as champions.

Almost as impressive were the A&C U12s, with both the A and B sides again winning all their games and each conceding only one try throughout the whole day.

There was a third A&C clean sweep at U8 level, with both the As and Bs winning all their games, while the U7 As and U9 As also finished as champions.

At U10 level, A&C finished as runners-up in both the A and B competitions, to Chesham and Buckingham respectively, while Buckingham also won the U9 Bs title, and Tring the U8 Bs title.

The presentations to the winning teams were made by Ben Lear, general sales manager at tournament sponsors Sytner BMW High Wycombe.

A&C U12s coach Andrew Rooke said: “We at A&C are extremely grateful to the parents and organisers from the visiting clubs for making the whole day such an enjoyable event from start to finish, as well as our friends from Sytner BMW, who sponsored the tournament and have agreed to do so for the next two years too.

“Without their help and participation, we would not be able to run the minis tournament and make it the great success it is.”
