Work­ing party to help best kept vil­lage bid

A WORK­ING party is to be set up to give a vil­lage the best chance of win­ning a best kept prize.

Ger­rards Cross Parish Coun­cil has agreed to set up a spe­cial party to work with the vil­lage’s traders’ as­so­ci­a­tion on the ap­pli­ca­tion for the Best Kept Vil­lage.

Ger­rards Cross is set to en­ter the contest next year.

A work­ing party will join traders to push for­ward the ap­pli­ca­tion and to dis­cuss how to best ap­proach it.

Coun­cil­lors

agreed

to put the vil­lage for­ward for the prize last month to fur­ther im­prove the look of the area.

Work has al­ready taken place to brighten up Pack­horse Road, with hang­ing bas­kets put in place, and it is hoped en­ter­ing the com­pe­ti­tion would mean this would con­tinue.
