Brucie boosts club success
A GOLF club and celebrity guest TV legend Sir Bruce Forsyth helped to raise more than £5,000 for a host of charities.
The South Buckinghamshire Golf Club in Stoke Poges held its first chairman’s charity golf day at its clubhouse on Friday, October 10.
A total of 54 golfers raised more than £4,000, with a further £1,000 from an auction, for the charities Padstones and the Citizens’ Advice Bureau.
Brucie was on hand to open the event.
Councillor Santokh Chhokar, chairman of South Bucks District Council, which comanages the club, said: “The golf day was a huge success and is a wonderful way to bring the community together and have fun while raising money.”
He thanked event sponsors Berkeley Homes, Sir Bruce Forsyth for opening the event, and everyone who generously donated auction prizes.
