Brucie boosts club suc­cess

A GOLF club and celebrity guest TV legend Sir Bruce Forsyth helped to raise more than £5,000 for a host of char­i­ties.

The South Buck­ing­hamshire Golf Club in Stoke Po­ges held its first chair­man’s char­ity golf day at its club­house on Fri­day, Oc­to­ber 10.

A to­tal of 54 golfers raised more than £4,000, with a fur­ther £1,000 from an auc­tion, for the char­i­ties Pad­stones and the Cit­i­zens’ Ad­vice Bureau.

Brucie was on hand to open the event.

Coun­cil­lor San­tokh Ch­hokar, chair­man of South Bucks Dis­trict Coun­cil, which co­man­ages the club, said: “The golf day was a huge suc­cess and is a won­der­ful way to bring the com­mu­nity to­gether and have fun while rais­ing money.”

He thanked event spon­sors Berke­ley Homes, Sir Bruce Forsyth for open­ing the event, and ev­ery­one who gen­er­ously do­nated auc­tion prizes.
