Signing puts future of midfield in good Stead
DANNY Edwards intends to his Chalfont St Peter side arou new signing Louis Stead, writ Tim Street.
The former North Greenford United midfielder was one of three new arrivals at Mill Meadow this week, with Adam Louth and Anthony Page from Harrow Borough.
And while the former Ha duo will help shore up his backline, Edwards was excited about the impact Stead (pictured) could have in the middle of the park.
“Louis had offers to go to a higher level, but he wants to play, first and foremost, and I sold to him what his role at the club will be. He will sit in the midfield and get things moving for me, from a deeper-lying position. e went for him in the mmer, but he was happy
North Greenford hen. They have had a lot of changes there though, and he wasn’t sure what was going on. He has been an utstanding central dfielder for the past months.” Chalfont booked an FA Trophy first qualifying round tie at Dulwich Hamlet on Saturday week after Daniel Ailey scored the only goal of the game in Tuesday night’s replay against AFC Hayes, the original tie having finished 1-1. Before that, they visit Barton Rovers on Saturday and host Aylesbury United on Tuesday night.
