Musical masterpieces at the Waterside

Buckinghamshire Advertiser - - FIVE OF THE BEST - What?

WITH one of the most celebrated tunes in the world, Schubert’s famously ‘unfinished’ two-movement Symphony No.8 is both beautiful and mysterious, a small masterpiece beloved by performers and audiences alike.

Praised for the purity of his lyrical and heartfelt performances, Leon McCawley performs Mozart’s Piano Concerto No.23 – a product of one of Mozart’s greatest Viennese years.

The concert also features one of Mendelssohn’s stirring evocations of the natural world, his romantic recreation of the dramatic Scottish coast, his Third Symphony directed by world-renowned conductor and winner of the Royal Philharmonic Society Conductor Award in 2013, Kirill Karabits, left.
