FESTIVE FOOD ON OFFER AT FAYRE
Now’s your chance at second Christmas food fest
A FEAST of festive food awaits visitors to a village culinary festival.
The second Gerrards Cross Christmas Food Festival is taking place on Saturday, November 29 and Sunday, November 30 at the Memorial Centre and will be featuring a variety of festive themed foods.
Highlights include a local producer area, which features some of the finest produce the Chilterns has to offer.
The event is being run for the second time, and was originally held following the success of the first summer food festival which went ahead in June 2013.
Food including cakes, cheeses, meat, wine and beer will be on offer, as well as jams and preserves and a
Aude Dupont Dudley from Blossoms Syrup host of other items.
Exhibitors will also be at the event giving cooking demonstrations, including Richard Fox, an award winning cookery book author and television chef presenter who has appeared on a range of programmes.
People will also be able to try their hand making chocolate truffles, pasta and canapes in the master class arena and for children there will be a cookery school which will allow youngsters to learn how to combine ingredients to make a meal.
There will be a kids’ food laboratory, allowing children to experiment with food and also a mini chilli festival, offering tips for cooking with chilli and demonstrations.
The event is being put on by the Love Food organisation, which also regularly hosts a popular food festival in Great Missenden, and is being held at the Gerrards Cross Memorial Centre.
Suzie Bower of the Gerrards Cross Community Association said: “It should be a fantastic event with lots going on and lots of things to buy in time for Christmas.
“It was very popular last year so we are hoping for the same again.”
The event runs from 10am until 5pm on both days, with adult tickets costing £4, seniors £3.50, children from six to 16 £1 and a family ticket £9.
