In the mix for wedding awards
A HAIRDRESSER and a cake company have been shortlisted in a national wedding awards scheme.
Hairdresser Sophie Murray, 26, of Skelton Close, Beaconsfield, and Kirsty King, 26, from Poshpud, in Golden Oak Close, Farnham Common, were named in the final 10 from hundreds in their categories in the hitched. co.uk Breakthrough Awards.
They recognise talent in the wedding industry for companies in business since June 1, 2011.
Ms Murray said: “I understand how special this once in a lifetime moment is for my brides.
“I wanted to be a part of that and knew with my achievements in hair in television and fashion that I could be.”
She works in fashion, commercials and television and has worked with designer Karen Millen, model David Gandy, the cast of Made in Chelsea and Downton Abbey and Channel 4.
Sisters Claire Belton and Kirsty King own Poshpud. Their customers have included ex-Spice Girl Emma Bunton and London Heart Radio.
Ms King said: “We love our job and it’s fantastic to be recognised nationally.
“We take pride and the utmost care in our work to ensure our clients visions and dreams come to life in the most beautiful and tasty way possible.”
