In the mix for wed­ding awards

A HAIR­DRESSER and a cake company have been short­listed in a na­tional wed­ding awards scheme.

Hair­dresser Sophie Mur­ray, 26, of Skel­ton Close, Bea­cons­field, and Kirsty King, 26, from Posh­pud, in Golden Oak Close, Farn­ham Common, were named in the fi­nal 10 from hun­dreds in their cat­e­gories in the hitched. Break­through Awards.

They recog­nise tal­ent in the wed­ding in­dus­try for com­pa­nies in business since June 1, 2011.

Ms Mur­ray said: “I un­der­stand how spe­cial this once in a lifetime mo­ment is for my brides.

“I wanted to be a part of that and knew with my achieve­ments in hair in tele­vi­sion and fash­ion that I could be.”

She works in fash­ion, com­mer­cials and tele­vi­sion and has worked with de­signer Karen Millen, model David Gandy, the cast of Made in Chelsea and Downton Abbey and Chan­nel 4.

Sis­ters Claire Bel­ton and Kirsty King own Posh­pud. Their cus­tomers have in­cluded ex-Spice Girl Emma Bun­ton and London Heart Ra­dio.

Ms King said: “We love our job and it’s fan­tas­tic to be recog­nised na­tion­ally.

“We take pride and the ut­most care in our work to en­sure our clients vi­sions and dreams come to life in the most beau­ti­ful and tasty way pos­si­ble.”
