Mosaic adds extra piece to garden

Buckinghamshire Advertiser - - NEWS -

CHILDREN from Fulmer Infants School took part in a fun activity to help unveil a new mosaic in the sensory garden at Iver Environment Centre on Wednesday last week, writes Mort Smith.

Anadarko Petroleum, an international oil and gas exploration company, and a major supporter of Iver Environment Centre, consulted with Fulmer Infant School whose pupils submitted drawings of mini-beasts and animals.

Anadarko commissioned a local artist to create the mosaic, which was laid in the sensory garden at the front of the centre.

Tracy Badham, head of social responsibility for Anadarko, formally unveiled it.

The children went on a treasure hunt in the sensory garden and entered them on a sheet of paper in the shape of the new mosaic.

Centre manager Debra Frankiewicz said: “The sensory garden is a very important and exciting part of the centre as it provides a place for adults with disabilities and school pupils and families to experience nature using their senses and enhance their knowledge of the environment.”
