Beat the cake deadline

Buckinghamshire Advertiser - - NEWS -

PEOPLE have until tomorrow (Friday) to get baking and celebrate the 10th anniversary of a famous film.

Stoke Park, in Stoke Poges, was used as a location for Layer Cake, starring Daniel Craig, which was released a decade ago this month.

The hard-hitting gangster film used the golf club for a number of scenes, in particular its shocking ending, and now people are being encouraged to mark the occasion by baking.

Executive chef Chris Wheeler, who made the original cake which features in the film, is inviting bakers to send in their Layer Cake photos and recipes, which will be whittled down to 10 finalists.

The finalists will be invited to Stoke Park for a special Afternoon Tea at the Movies party, where Mr Wheeler and head pastry chef Alex and Sarah Edwards will judge the cakes.

The winner will win a stay for two at Stoke Park and be treated to the six-course tasting menu.

Email your entry by tomorrow to marketing@ stokepark.com.
