Tett: Council tax is already too high

Buckinghamshire Advertiser - - OPINION -

RE: Road repairs to be axed in £28m cuts? (Advertiser, October 23) THE council leader’s remarks, as reported, make for an impressive front page but seem to miss the fact that a large proportion of the residents in his area simply cannot pay more from their inadequate pension income.

Why does he not start with a close look at senior staff pensions versus input and invite his people to suggest changes to accommodate the funding of necessities.

The council tax is already much too high at £2,200 a year for a two-bedroom flat, and should be the subject of careful scrutiny.
