Muck in with fundraising event
PEOPLE are urged to get filthy for charity by taking part in a hospice’s inaugural fundraising event.
With only a few weeks to go until the Rennie Grove Hospice Care Muddy Mucker event on Sunday, November 16, the charity is encouraging more teams to sign up and raise money for local people with cancer and other life-limiting illnesses.
The five-mile course includes various obstacles including crawling through tunnels and over climbing walls. Participants are guaranteed to get muddy.
Building and plumbing merchants Grant and Stone, which has branches in Amersham and Chalfont St Peter, has a team of 10 taking part.
Marketing manager for Grant and Stone, which has sponsored an obstacle on the course, Darren House, said: “Everyone’s really looking forward to it and has been training hard.
“Doing something like this is great for team spirit, there is a lot of banter about it and everyone at work is really behind the team.”
Senior events fundraiser for Rennie Grove, Gemma Martin, says: “We’re absolutely delighted that hundreds of people have already signed up to take part in our first Muddy Mucker challenge, but we’d love to see more businesses taking advantage of this great team-building opportunity.”
The event will take part at Green Park in Aston Clinton at 10am on Sunday, November 16. Entry costs £30 and is open to teams and individuals. Participants must be aged 16 and over.
