With Liz Robinson of Pinewood nurseries and farm

Buckinghamshire Advertiser - - GREEN SPACES -

HERE is now a new ‘family tradition’ of harvesting wet walnuts at Pinewood Farm Shop.

Where do the days go? I seem to be losing weeks at a time. I’m rolling into Halloween, autumn is passing me by and I have turkey order forms coming out of my ears. Thankfully I had my first ‘fan’ in the shop today, reminding me that she was looking forward to reading my article this week (I explained that ‘I’m not up ‘till next week’, I had yet to get started).

I’ve been busy harvesting walnuts, ahead of the squirrels. My father ceremoniously invited me to him with this task, and I was rised I hadn’t done this before rely it should be a family adition?) and was looking orward to learning the echnicalities of this Pinewood Harvest.

Needless to say he turned up with a long drainpipe and, with y 14-month-old Ellie in tow, he onstrated a ‘whacking motion’
