CIAO amanti della vite!

This week, we head to the land of Chianti! More precisely, to the medieval estate of Castello D’Albola, in Radda, which is well known for the elegance of its wines.

Made from 100 per cent Sangiovese, we are tasting the Montemajone Chianti Classico 2011.

The look is deep, dense and dark ruby in colour. On the nose, there are big aromas of cherries, with hints of violets. In the mouth, there is a silky feel. Velvety tannins lead on to flavours of ripe cherries on a long-lasting finish.

A very elegant wine!

Alcohol by volume is 13 per cent and the price is £10.49 (new and exclusive to Waitrose). An excellent choice to accompany rich pasta dishes, roasts and grilled meats.

Until next time… gustare un bicchiere di Italia!
