Top Ma­sons are chips off the old block

THE Ma­son fam­ily were the big­gest win­ners as Winch­more Hill Cricket Club’s ju­nior mem­bers staged their 2014 pre­sen­ta­tion night on Sun­day.

U15 Finn Ma­son was named top bats­man of the year and re­ceived a sec­ond award for cap­taincy, while lead­er­ship ob­vi­ously runs in the fam­ily as sis­ter Flora re­ceived a sim­i­lar award for skip­per­ing the U10s.

Tilly Ma­son com­pleted a tre­ble for the fam­ily by scoop­ing the field­ing award.

Bran­don Pooler and Alex Rizvi won awards ac­knowl­edg­ing their cap­taincy for the U11s and U13s re­spec­tively, while other award win­ners in­cluded: Ben Quick (Bowl­ing), Libby Bakkes (Most Im­proved Player) and Sam Rich­mond (Most Promis­ing Player).

Two other young­sters, Alex Lee and Luke Maxwell were hon­oured for tak­ing hat-tricks.

A host of play­ers were also awarded Bronze Cricket Skill cer­tifi­cates. Take a bow Noah Agnew, El­liot Ar­bibe, George Chone, Thomas Easter­brook, Kate Finn, Ethan Horne, Nathan Lock­well, Silvie McKen­zie, Wil­liam McKen­zie, Alex Moore, Sam Pear­son, Jake Scotch­brook and Thomas Threlfall.
