Tells us how the Yoesden Bank appeal has reached its target
THANKS to the amazing generosity of members of the local Wildlife Trust (BBOWT), and many other people who have given to the Yoesden Bank appeal, we have purchased this wildlife site.
Yoesden is high in the Chilterns where wild flowers and butterflies abound on the chalk grassland. Above this is the ‘hanger’ woodland that this week is all shades of golden brown, russet red and dark green.
The leaves of beech, ash and whitebeam trees are falling to the ground, leaving the deep green needles of yew trees and leaves of glossy-berried hollies to become the eye-catchers.
Estelle Bailey, BBOWT chief executive, is thrilled that Yoesden will be protected.
She said: “The generosity of BBOWT members and everyone who has donated to the appeal is staggering.
