Fam­ily fun that goes with a bang

START your week­end with an evening un­der the stars and an aerial dis­play. Che­sham United Foot­ball Club, in Amy Lane, has its Fire­works Spec­tac­u­lar event to­mor­row (Novem­ber 7). Doors open at 6pm and the fire­works will start at about 7.30pm. There will also be food stalls and a bar. Tick­ets are £7 for adults, £5 for un­der-18s and free for un­der-fives. A fam­ily ticket (two adults, two chil­dren) costs £20 – all avail­able in ad­vance from The Chess Suite.

ODDS Farm Park, in Wooburn Common – not far from Junc­tion 2 of the M40 – is open be­tween 10am and 5.30pm on Satur­day and Sun­day.

Chil­dren can learn about lots of live­stock an­i­mals and en­joy all sorts of ac­tiv­i­ties, in­clud­ing the play barn, which has slides, tun­nels and much more. Adults can re­lax at the Espresso Bar.

PINEWOOD Stu­dios is screen­ing 5 two films this week­end.

The stu­dios in Iver Heath will be screen­ing Be­fore I Go to Sleep and Pride on Satur­day, Novem­ber 8 and Sun­day, Novem­ber 9.

Be­fore I Go To Sleep is a thriller about a woman in­volved in a car ac­ci­dent, who has suf­fered se­vere mem­ory loss, and does not recog­nise peo­ple around her. It stars Ni­cole Kid­man and Colin Firth Pride fea­tures Bill Nighy and Do­minic West and is in­spired by the true story of gay pride ac­tivists in 1984.

Screen­ings of Be­fore I Go To Sleep are at 2.30pm on Satur­day, and at 5pm and 7pm on the Sun­day; Pride starts at 4.30pm and 7pm on Satur­day, and at 2.30pm on Sun­day.
