Groups go for grants

Buckinghamshire Advertiser - - NEWS -

COMMUNITY groups are being invited to apply for a share of grant money to help them to run successfully.

South Bucks District Council is inviting applications for a pot of funding worth more than £22,000, designed to support community groups andvoluntaryorganisations in the area.

The subscriptions and donations grant is meant to help not for profit groups with their running costs so that they can continue to provide their services and activities to the community.

Grants will not be given to applicants who wish to use the funding to purchase equipment or to put on one-off events and are instead designed to help the groups improve the service they are offering.

Applicants do not have to live in the district, but their services must benefit people living in the South Bucks area.

Beneficiaries from last year’s scheme include Headway South Bucks, Bucks Vision, Chiltern Citizens’ Advice Bureau, Careers Springboard, and Berkshire East and South Bucks Women’s Aid.

The closing date for applications is January 27 at 5pm, and application forms can be downloaded from the South Bucks District Council website.

People can also request a paper copy of a form by calling 01895 837 379 or emailing community@ southbucks.gov.uk.
