Friends’ window of opportunity

Buckinghamshire Advertiser - - OPINION -

Re: ‘Uses suggested for empty shops’ (Advertiser, page 15, October 23) I AM a member of the League of Friends of Chalfonts and Gerrards Cross Hospital.

We currently have a display about the services available at this hospital in the windows of the former book shop in Market Place, Chalfont St Peter.

We are grateful to the landlord for giving us permission and it helps to brighten up a rather dismal looking empty shop.

There has been huge interest from the local people who feel passionate about our little hospital.

If the shop remains unlet, we hope to change the display from time to time, but since it is not heated the windows do suffer from condensation, so it is not a very viable proposition long term.
