Care home residents make their own Guy Fawkes
A CARE home’s firework display went off with a bang thanks to the handiwork of its staff and residents.
Chalfont Lodge in Chalfont St Peter made a Guy Fawkes out of newspaper stuffed into tights with a balloon for the head on Wednesday, November 5.
Activities organiser Hayley Clark said: “The residents and staff had a great time creating him and he made a loud bang when the balloon popped on the bonfire.
“Some of the residents used black card and glitter pens to make swirls and patterns of firework explosions.
“In the evening the residents sat within the warm lounges, overlooking the grass area watching the firework display put on by our hard working maintenance team. Everyone was ‘oooing’ and ‘aaaaahing’ at the display. The day was a fantastic success and everyone enjoyed themselves.”
