Stopps getting started
SUPER SINGLES LEAGUE
DAVE Stopps recorded his first Super Singles Darts League win of the season in round five with a 6-4 victory over Mark Luckett at the Wooburn Club.
Blaine Jelly was played twice on the same night, falling to a 7-3 loss to John Beattie, in which both players hit 180s, and Beattie a 123 outshot, but hit back with 7-3 win over the luckless Mike McLeod in his second game.
Last week’s competition winner, Steven Vaughan, was brought back to earth with a 7-3 reverse to the impressive Pat O’Reilly, while Paul Woodbridge’s experience saw him over the line 6-4 in a close match with Simon White that either player could have won.
Steve McLeod hit a 117 outshot to seal a 7-3 victory over Trevor Brereton 7-3, while Rob Brereton continued his 100 per cent record with a win by the same score over Mick Carlton, and Andy Long played out a 5-5 draw with Dan Franzen.
