Sharon Hewitt, from Chiltern Relocation, in Penn Road, helps people relocate to the area.
She said: “I’ve been doing this for 10 years and have seen a lot of people relocate town has number in the the
of south from London to Beaconsfield. At first they commute into the City and then think ‘no, I don’t want to do this any more’ and set up their own business.
“These are highly educated and professional people, so it’s not surprising that these businesses do well and last.
“There’s also a lot of women who relocate with their partners.
“I can think of one woman who came from a PR company and set up her own business in the town.
“A lot of people also stay, so we benefit from people who have come through a good school system.
“You have this pool of educated people on your doorstep.
“We are close to Heathrow and the motorway too.”
Nationally, top of the average turnover list is the City of London and Westminster with an average of £1,038,556. However, the rest of the top five positions are taken up by regions further north – West Bromwich, Hull, Leeds and Sheffield.
By country, businesses in England turn over on average £510,866 per year, while those in Scotland and Wales turn over an average of £485,100 and £430,140 respectively.
Comparing just England as a whole, the average turnover of businesses based in the north is £515,829 versus £507,659 in the south.
Director of business Stephen Ibbotson said: “Not only does Beaconsfield top the regional table for number of businesses, it also performs strongly compared against the national average.”
