Hospice plea to marathon runners

Buckinghamshire Advertiser - - NEWS -

A HOSPICE is urging runners who have secured a place in next year’s London Marathon to join their team.

All of Rennie Grove Hospice Care’s bond places for the marathon have been filled, but people who have their own places are now being sought to help raise funds.

Events fundraiser Joanne Hunt said: “We would really love to have a team of 30 people next year to help celebrate the charity’s 30th anniversary.

“We host regular ‘meet the team’ evenings where you can swap training notes and fundraising ideas and get to know us and your fellow team members.

“We value our London Marathon team very highly and will look after you throughout your marathon journey.”

The charity can help runners with fundraising web pages, weekly training and nutrition tips, sponsor forms, posters, fundraising ideas and resources for fundraising events.

The team raised more than £30,000 this year and in 2015 the charity has set its sights higher.

There is a reunion after the race so the charity can congratulate and thank runners.

To join the team, call Jo Hunt on 01442 820 720 or email Joanne. Hunt@renniegrove.org.
