South Bucks Hospice has a new community fundraiser
I AM delighted to be writing my first official column for the Advertiser and Examiner and to bring you the news that I have just been appointed as Community Fundraising Manager at the marvellous South Bucks Hospice.
To tell you a little about myself, I have been an honorary southerner for about eight weeks now and have so far had a wonderful experience of life ‘Down South’.
Prior to uprooting myself from my native Preston, I was in position as charity executive for Rock FM’s Cash for Kids; a children’s charity established by the BAUER Media group to support children under the age of 18 who have a disability, life-limiting condition or lived in extremely difficult circumstances.
In my four years at Cash for Kids, I worked with and supported some truly amazing families who never failed to inspire me with their strength and positivity and I can already see it’s going to be no different here at South Bucks Hospice.
I have some big shoes to fill after the wonderful Kelly Carruthers left us in preparation for the arrival of her baby girl in December but rest assured, it is now full steam ahead with some exciting new plans to really put South Bucks Hospice on the map.
With a brand new website on the way plus ever-progressing updates on our new build project, I’ll have lots to keep you informed about in my future columns.
The hospice will celebrate its 30th birthday next year and I would like to extend my deepest thanks to you, our supporters, for enabling us to provide palliative care and support to our local community for so many years.
Without you we simply couldn’t continue to provide our services free of charge or strengthen what we can provide as a day hospice to our patients.
I highly encourage you to keep your eyes on the unveiling of our new website in December, which will tell you more about who we are, what we do and how you can get involved. You can also see our upcoming events.
As always we would love to hear from you if you would like to attend an event, fundraise in aid of the hospice or volunteer with us. Please feel free to contact me via email on rose.finnigan@ sbhospice.co.uk or visit the website at www.sbh.org.uk. Community fundraiser
