Take care of yourself this winter
A HEALTH group is reminding people that self-care is a good way to stay well and healthy this winter.
The NHS Chiltern Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) is supporting the national Self-Care Week to help raise awareness of the benefits of self-care and what people can do to take care of their own health at home.
Clinical commissioning director in urgent care at Chiltern CCG, Dr Rebecca Mallard-Smith, said: “If you do catch a winter ailment such as a cough, cold or sore throat you can take care of yourself by keeping warm and drinking plenty of fluids. Most colds are not serious and get better by themselves. Over the counter medicines such as paracetamol can help with symptom relief and a pharmacist can offer advice if people need it.”
If a condition persists people are advised to see their GP or contact NHS 111 for advice.
