Unbeaten records fall

Buckinghamshire Advertiser - - SPORT -

FOUR unbeaten sides did battle in Division One of the Wycombe & Amersham Darts League this week, with two remaining intact and two falling by the wayside.

Holmer Green Legion A took on Totteridge SC in a high quality match which looked to heading Totteridge’s way as they led 6-3, only for Holmer to storm back to level it at 6-6.

Holmer’s Phil Bowring hit a 116 outshot but still could not get the better of Steve Woods, who edged their game for Totteridge.

The highlight, however, was the singles match between Holmer’s Andy Parrin and Totteridge’s Rich Parcell, which ended in a narrow and deserved 2-1 victory for Parrin. Totteridge held their nerve in the final two singles matches to edge a 8-6 win and remain top of the table.

Wooburn Club and Hazlemere CC both boasted 100 per cent records going into the match, but it was Wooburn who proved too strong on the night and ran out 11-3 winners, while Holmer Green Legion C at last got their first win of the season in some style, a whopping 13-1 victory against the RAFA Club.

In Division Two there was an upset as Cressex CC A overturned fancied Marlow Legion 8-6, with Lionel Pearce hitting a 180 for Cressex, whose C team thumped Bourne End CC 11-3, and whose E team remain top and unbeaten after winning 8-6 at the Marsh Legion.

The final Division Two match saw Holmer Green Legion B get back to winning ways a 9-5 victory at the Judo Club.
