ANDY Zaltzman, the Britishbased half of the global hit podcast The Bugle, takes his uniquely interactive new show, Satirist for Hire, to Aylesbury Waterside Theatre’s Second Space on Thursday, December 4 at 8pm.
Whether a general grumble or a specific bleat, audience members are invited to send in their satirico-queries in advance.
Zaltzman will then satirise them and answer the queries in his show.
The comedian has established himself as one of Britain’s most inventive comedians with his distinctive brand of political comedy.
He stars in the worldwide hit podcast, The Bugle, alongside John Oliver.
The weekly satirical comedy show has gained an international following since its aunch late in 2007, and now receives over 200,000 downloads per episode.
Andy has been a regular at the Edinburgh Festival since being nominated for the Perrier Best Newcomer Award in 2001, and in 2011 performed his seventh one-man show, Armchair Revolutionary, at The Stand. In 2004 and 2005, he and John Oliver performed sell-out Edinburgh Fringe runs as a double act.
In 2007, Andy performed at the Melbourne Festival, winning the comedians’ comedian Piece Of Wood Award.
Andy and John had previously cowritten and starred in the BBC Radio 4 shows The Department and Political Animal.
Andy has made a number of guest appearances on television and radio, including two series of The Alternative Comedy Experience, The Now Show and The News Quiz (BBC Radio 4), and Bremner, Bird and Fortune (Channel 4), for which Andy also wrote for several years.
