War book reprinted
November 22, at the association’s annual dinner.
The book was written by the late Robin Pedler, whose house in Grove Road was taken over by the Forces Navales Françaises Libres in 1941 in the Second World War with other properties, including Butler’s Court, to form a naval hospital in Beaconsfield.
This is where the Free French were treated. Those who did not survive were buried in the Shepherds Lane cemetery.
The book is available to buy for £12.
