THE hair­dress­ing in­dus­try’s stars of the fu­ture were iden­ti­fied at a train­ing award cer­e­mony.

Har­ing­tons Hair­dress­ing Group’s 12th an­nual train­ing awards were held at Maiden­head’s Nor­den Farm Cen­tre for the Arts.

Tal­ented trainees from Har­ing­tons’ 12 sa­lons cre­ated hair cuts, styles and colours on mod­els, which were then judged by top in­dus­try pro­fes­sion­als.

Bea­cons­field salon came away with the most win­ners, with third-year trainee Chantelle Taplin win­ning four awards.

Trainee Shani Baker was named one of four win­ners in the Hair­dressers Jour­nal Front Cover Pho­to­shoot Com­pe­ti­tion and came third in the Har­ing­tons Trainee of the Year com­pe­ti­tion.

Chelsea Cooper was third in the year three L’Oreal award for colour com­pe­ti­tion and was a fi­nal­ist in the Hair­dressers Jour­nal Front Cover Pho­to­shoot Com­pe­ti­tion.

Shan­non Couch was named trainee of the year.

Judge pres­i­dent of the Fel­low­ship for Bri­tish Hair­dress­ing Er­rol Dou­glas said: “Har­ing­tons have put on a won­der­ful dis­play and the stan­dard of hair­dress­ing is in­cred­i­bly high. Th­ese stylists are the fu­ture stars of the hair­dress­ing in­dus­try.”

The event was also used to raise money for Teens Unite which sup­ports teenagers and young peo­ple with can­cer.
