Santa’s coming early
SANTA Claus will be making an early stopover in a village to switch on the Christmas tree lights on Saturday.
Despite this being his busiest time of the year, Santa has agreed to turn the lights on at 5.50pm on the village green in Chalfont St Giles. As in previous years, schoolchildren will walk down to the green to join in the celebrations, including a reminder of the Christmas story and a selection of carols.
There will be food and drink available including mince pies and mulled wine. There will also be stalls selling Christmas gifts and a merry-goround.
The 2014 Christmas lights switch-on is being supported by Churches Together and the Chalfont St Giles and Jordans Revitalisation group.
