Make a pitch for our new town plan
RE: Share your views on future of town (Beaconsfield Advertiser, November 20) THANKS for reporting on the new group, which has come together to gather the best ideas for the kind of Beaconsfield we all want.
Although Vision for Beaconsfield was brought together by the town council, we want the group to be community-led. It may influence the town council, and it could also be a starting point for others who want to do things for the community.
We want to write a Vision for Beaconsfield that can inspire a Town Plan, and be ready for the council elections next May.
We we will be at the Festival of Lights on Wednesday, December 10 at a stall outside the town hall from 5.30pm and handing out flyers in the highway. You could write down some of your ideas about the kind of Beaconsfield that would be an even better place to live and work in, and pop them into a message box there.
We are also online – at www.visionforbeaconsfield.uk – or follow us on Facebook, and leave a message about what you want to say about Beaconsfield.
The steering group has been formed by those who have volunteered to take part, who represent community leaders and business owners. We want to reach as many people as possible, who live, work and travel in Beaconsfield, and enjoy recreational facilities, those who are concerned about the facilities of the town, and the way the town is developing, for instance in Wilton Park.
The group aims to set up working groups which can take on the work of writing the Vision for different aspects of Beaconsfield life. So get in touch with us and have your say! And tell us if you want to get involved.
